| THE BVI CATHOLIC PARISH
The British Virgin Islands are known as Nature's Little Secrets. It is considered to be the sailing capital of the world. Behind the spectacular scenery of these islands, there is a young, dynamic Catholic Parish that reflects the uniqueness and appeal of these islands.
From very humble beginnings – a small church completed in 1957 and the first resident Parish Priest in 1972 - the BVI Catholic Church has evolved into a vibrant and energetic Parish Family that reflects the diversity of our parish family living in a communion of faith with the universal church.
For those who call the BVI home as well as to our many visitors, the BVI Catholic Community provides a unique place for worship. The Sunday liturgies in particular reflect the general spirit of the Caribbean in music, natural movement and gesture. What is special in the BVI is a culture that is a blend of the many islands from which our Catholic membership is drawn. Catholic visitors who have shared our Sunday worship have remarked that it has been for them, a very striking and transforming experience.
All three Churches that make up our Catholic Community - St. William's in Road Town, St. Ursula's in Virgin Gorda and Mary Star of the Sea at East End - extend to you a warm welcome and invite you to join us to be part of our faith community and to join us in our faith journey.
